🛸 Come on in and take a seat for another issue of Ipswich Insider. Today: Keiraville, the Roderick St brick icon turned eye clinic, Ipswich lore that won't die - sharks, ghosts, tunnels, yowies - and a Dad's Day playbook. Hope you enjoy it and hope to catch ya round town. Keiraville: The A$2.5m (est.) Heritage Home with Clear VisionKeiraville isn’t another timber Queenslander—it’s an 1886 brick villa built by contractor John MacKenzie, the same hands behind the 1895 Congregational Church Hall next door. 3-side verandahs, a neat pyramid roof, French doors and high ceilings give it cool, calm rooms. The corner holding grew to two lots in 1888, setting the house in a generous gardened setting. From 1938 to 1983 it served as the Congregational (later Uniting) manse (Minister's house). After Blue Nurses and Lifeline, it sold for $1.26 million in 2015 (estimated worth of $2.5m today) and now works as an eye clinic. Heritage-listed since 1993. 🦈 Ipswich Uncovered: Top 9 Urban LegendsFor this week’s SPOTLIGHT, we dove into Ipswich’s most debated urban legends to find out what's fact, what's folklore, and why some stories just won't go away.
