Today we’re diving into South East Queensland’s 17 biggest water reservoirs, from Enoggera to Wivenhoe. We’re also looking at last week’s age bracket poll results. Plus a packed school holiday week. Events for all ages. All week and weekend. Don't miss the Happenings section if you’re looking for plans. Catch ya round.

SEQ’s 17 Biggest Water Reservoirs

Did you know Seqwater, headquartered in Ipswich’s Icon Tower, manages 26 dams and 57 recreation areas across South East Queensland?

Those sites attract 2.7 million visits a year.

They also supply drinking water to more than 3.8 million people.

And they help irrigate about 8,000 hectares in the Warrill Valley, plus farmland across the Lockyer Valley and along Burnett Creek and the Logan River.

Then there’s flood mitigation.

Wivenhoe alone can hold back almost 2 million ML of floodwater in major rain. That is enough to cover the entire RAAF Amberley base to about 107 metres deep, instead of sending that water surging downstream.

From 1866-built Enoggera to 2011’s Wyaralong:
