ISSUE #064 – Million Dollar Billboard?

TOGETHER WITH

Let’s take a closer look at Ipswich’s cheapest million-dollar view: that giant Goodna billboard beside the motorway. First, the behind-the-fence video look. Then, the Curious Case of the money, the block, and the approval. All the details below. Catch ya round.

The Curious Case of the Cheapest Million-Dollar View in Ipswich

Guess how much the Goodna billboard earns?

You drive past it every time you head home from Brisbane.

Surely, you've wondered?

This week we dug through planning documents, property listings, advertising rates, traffic data and more to find out.

3 curious cases in one report:

  1. Who gets paid what (from hundreds to millions?)
  2. Why that particular block hosts Ipswich's #1 billboard
  3. How it got approved back in 2019 and how it now owns the monopoly over Ipswich Motorway advertising

Kudos to Bishopp, the billboard company – they're clever.
