🛠️ Looking to raise and build?

Raising and building in under your Queenslander is a big, expensive job. And unless you already have enough redraw sitting there, you may need to look at other ways to fund it.

For larger renovations, some construction-style loans release money in stages as the work is completed. That can be useful when the builder needs payments at different points, not all on day one.

Justin Hewitt from Loan Market Ripley Valley can help compare renovation loan options across 90+ lenders before you lock in the plan.

BrisWest: Swanbank’s New Freehold Industrial Estate

BrisWest is a funny name for an industrial estate in northern Swanbank, right in the middle of the Ipswich map.

But who cares.

The name is marketing.

The real story is money and future jobs.

Old coal mining land is being turned into a huge industrial estate. Stage 2 alone is tipped at $900m+ and about 320,000 m² of sheds and warehouses — basically Redbank Motorway Estate scale.

Good for investment. Good for future jobs.

Probably not so good for extra trucks around Redbank Plains Road and the Cunningham Highway interchange.

This full guide and drone tour shows what BrisWest is, what is planned, and what it looks like right now.

What's inside Carole Park will surprise you...

Carole Park is one of those places you drive past on the Logan Motorway and never really think much more about.

But it's a verifiable treasure trove of Ipswich manufacturing and making.

This full guide and drone tour takes you over Ipswich’s original industrial suburb — from James Hardie, Visy, Quilton, Viatris and Cummins to the smaller factories, yards and warehouses packed through the backstreets.

If you have a brain that needs to know how Ipswich works, then this is a good place to start.

Scramble Answer: UNIVERSITY

Today, UniSQ Ipswich is a working university campus set among heritage-listed buildings. The old Boilerhouse was built in 1913 and once housed the engine and boilers that helped power the site and produce steam for the hospital laundry. Long before university students arrived, the site opened in 1878 as Sandy Gallop Asylum, later becoming the Challinor Centre and UQ Ipswich before UniSQ took over in 2015.
