It’s a unique dome-shaped house in Karalee. Looks like a cluster of giant bubbles. Like something you’ve seen in a Mars movie—but in Karalee, Ipswich. It went viral when it was listed for sale in 2020, but has mostly slipped back out of view since then. The home was designed and built by Ipswich architect Graham Birchall of Birchall & Partners. Construction started in 1983 and the main build was completed in 1993 after 10 years of weekend work. More details → 🗳️ VoteWould you buy this 1899 Ipswich map tea towel?It’s a cotton/linen tea towel printed with an 1899 map of Ipswich. The original map came from a book scan, so I spent about 8 hours digitally retouching it, including removing the book spine from the middle and cleaning it up for print. It’s still not perfect, but it’s an 1899 map. That’s part of the charm. I had the sample printed locally by Rameez at APPLik Digital Fabric Printing in Carole Park. Because I’m aiming for a quality cotton/linen tea towel, printed locally in Ipswich, it costs me about $15-$17 each before packaging, payment fees, postage, and my time. So the price would likely be $31 + shipping. I know that’s not a cheap tea towel. But this would be a limited edition Ipswich-made run of about 80-150 tea towels, depending on this vote.
